Uni Mental Health Day: Finding Focus - Navigating Stress and Uncertainty with the Three Circles of Control

Workshop overview

In times of stress, uncertainty, or change, it can be difficult to know where to direct our energy. This interactive workshop invites PhD researchers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what is within their control. Using the Three Circles of Control framework—Concern, Influence, and Control—we will explore how to manage overwhelm.

Through guided reflection and a short meditation, participants will consider how their attention is distributed across these circles, and how small shifts in focus can support wellbeing. The session will conclude with the ‘Just One Thing’ prompt: a simple yet powerful question to help identify one meaningful action that supports mental health and resilience.

Please bring a pen and notebook for activities during the workshop.
